Ainsley Brown (Jamaica)

Ainsley Brown is a (non-practicing) Lawyer and Notary Public from, Ontario, Canada, currently working as the Senior Director of Regulations, Policy, Monitoring and Enforcement (RPME) for the Jamaica Special Economic Zone Authority (JSEZA).

Ainsley was instrumental in the creating the Regulatory Framework for the Jamaica’s Special Economic Zones. He leads a dynamic team within the JSEZA charged with the awesome responsibility of having oversight of Jamaica’s SEZ ecosystem – regulatory and commercial.

Ainsley previously worked as the Policy Analyst at the Jamaica Logistics Hub Secretariat in the Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce. Ainsley moved from Jamaica to Canada in 1994. However, observing Jamaica’s thrust to position itself as a global logistics hub, Ainsley, returned home to Jamaica in 2012 to make his contribution to the nation’s development.

He holds a LLM in International Commercial Law (with Merit) from the University of Westminster (UK), having earned a diploma in law from London Metropolitan University (UK) and a BA (Hons) in Political Science from the University of Western Ontario (Canada). He was called to the Bar in Ontario Canada in 2010.

He is currently an adjunct lecturer at the Mona School of Business and Management, the University of the West Indies, Jamaica on Supply Chain Management and Strategy on the Masters in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. Previously he lectured at the Caribbean Maritime University in the areas of Carriage of Goods by Sea Law, Maritime Law and Carriage of Goods by Air Law and at the Excelsior Community College for the Post Graduate Diploma in Logistics Management.

Carsten Lexa (Germany)

Carsten Lexa holds an LL.M. in International Commercial Law from the University of Westminster in London, UK. He has been an Attorney at Law in Germany since September 2005. He has been a Partner in the law firm of WPV Rechtsanwälte until May 2009, dealing with Commercial & Corporate Law matters. Currently, Carsten Lexa is working in his own law office, advising corporate clients, especially family businesses, in the areas of Commercial, Corporate and Contract Law matters. He was Associate Attorney at the law firm of Lachner Graf von Westphalen Spamer in Frankfurt am Main until May 2007 (Commercial Law / Corporate Law).

Carsten Lexa is also engaged in the academic side of the Law, being appointed Examiner at the Julius-Maximilians-University in Würzburg, and he is seminar facilitator in the field of claim management, company formation and company restructuring.
