The information age or the data economy or the fourth industrial revolution or the Internet of Things,  call it what you will, it is very much real and is creating enormous value and wealth in the global economy, not to mention social change. The  scale, scope and speed  of  change cannot be overstated.

At its most basic the Internet of Things (IoT) is a giant network connecting any device with an on and off switch to the Internet. However, it is  much more than that. At its very heart of ‘things’ are relationships and relationship management – people-people, people-things, and things-things.

You don’t have to take my word for it, in fact I hope you don’t. However, what I do hope for its that you read this and gain some insights that will lead you to your own truths or lies, as those can be valuable at times, about the Internet of Things/Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Just as a quick aside logistics and supply chain management is basically  the process involved in moving  stuff  around- goods, services,  people or data – from one point to another.
